* The 10-year implant warranty applies exclusively to the implant body itself; it does not apply to the abutment or the dental prosthesis.
Patient cooperation requirements
We can honour our warranty only if the patient cooperates: they attend the follow-up appointments agreed with their treating dentist and work with the dentist to establish and maintain appropriate oral hygiene.
This requires the patient to:
– care for their teeth properly and continuously follow the oral hygiene instructions provided by their treating dentist;
– attend the check-ups prescribed by their treating dentist (every 6 months or annually), but at least once a year, at our dental practice;
– have the maintenance treatments recommended by their treating dentist carried out within 30 days at the latest (for example, tartar removal or denture relining);
– have tartar removed at least once a year at our practice, or elsewhere with an invoice as proof;
– keep the dental prosthesis clean as instructed;
– use the dental prosthesis for its intended purpose.
The warranty becomes void in the following cases
– At the patient’s request, the treatment differs from the procedure recommended by the dentist.
– The patient does not attend the prescribed six-monthly check-up, or at least an annual check-up.
– The patient smokes heavily.
– A chronic illness develops that adversely affects the condition of the teeth or the dental prosthesis (for example, diabetes, epilepsy, osteoporosis, cancer, or the patient’s condition following radiotherapy and chemotherapy).
– Allergies, dental diseases or their consequences develop after treatment and were not known before treatment (for example, dental pulp necrosis).
– The dental prosthesis or implant is subjected to extreme forces (night-time teeth grinding or clenching), resulting in damage to the prosthesis.
– The patient uses the dental prosthesis improperly, causing damage (for example, a dropped denture or a sports injury).
– An injury occurs as a result of an accident.
– The patient does not have the night-time bite splint recommended by their dentist made, or does not wear it, and excessive clenching consequently causes the porcelain veneering to chip.
Individual assessment of warranty claims
We assess each warranty claim individually, based on the treating dentist’s examination, the circumstances of the case, the patient’s cooperation and the conditions above. The way in which a warranty claim is resolved is determined during this individual assessment.
